What is a Family Day Care Scheme?

A Scheme is a Service Provider who has been approved through the Department of Education (QLD). All family day care educators, must be registered through an Approved Provider, before they can provide child care services. Mulberry Garden is registered with Kids At Home Family Day Care Service (Scheme).

Kids at Home has been assessed through National Quality Standards and has received an overall rating of “Exceeding National Quality Standards”. Their Coordination Unit provides ongoing support, advice, and regular visits to help us manage the requirements of Government Regulations, Legislation, Policies and Procedures.

Educators are required to - 

• Hold and maintain a blue card (working with children check), as well as any adult occupant 18 or above.
• Hold and maintain first aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma qualifications
• Hold and maintain public liability insurance
• Be willing to adjust their home to meet health and safety standards
• Hold a minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care  in accordance with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) qualifications register
• Have exceptional communication skills with children and adults
• Be willing to participate in ongoing professional development
